Men's Lacrosse Hits the Road for Ivy Matchup at Yale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (5-5, 1-2 Ivy League) return to the road to take on the Yale Bulldogs (5-4, 1-3 Ivy League) in a critical conference matchup Saturday at Reese Stadium in New Haven, Connecticut.
Saturday's game is slated to start at noon and will broadcast locally on NESN+. Fans outside New England can stream the game on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a 5-5 overall record and 1-2 conference mark. The Bears are coming off a thrilling 12-11 home win over 14th-ranked Penn to pick up the first conference win of the season.
- Brown's offense averages 12.90 goals per game to rank fifth in the Ivy League and 28th in the NCAA. Devon McLane leads the team with 34 points and 13 assists with his younger brother, Aidan, leading the team with 26 goals and ranking second with 32 points.
- Brown's .897 clear percentage ranks third in the Ivy League and 17th in the nation.
- Defensively, Brown allows 12.50 goals per game to rank fourth in the conference and 48th in the nation. Connor Theriault has started all 10 games and holds a .523 save percentage and 12.58 goals against average.
- Brown's man-down defense ranks third in the conference at .621 (17-for-29).
- Yale enters the weekend with a 5-4 overall record and 1-3 Ivy League mark. The Bulldogs need a victory to keep their postseason hopes alive.
- After starting the season with a 3-1 record with wins over Villanova, UMass, and Denver, the Bulldogs fell to Cornell, Princeton, and Penn to fall to 0-3 in the conference standings.
- Since then, Yale took home wins over Boston University and Dartmouth to claw back into the Ivy race.
- Yale averages 14.89 goals per game to pace the Ivy and rank 11th in the NCAA.
- The Bulldogs are led by Matt Brandau and Alex Lyons. Brandau leads the team in points (45) and assists (20) and ranks second in goals (25). He ranks inside the Ivy League's top-5 in goals per game, assists per game, and points per game.
- Alex Lyons leads the team with 34 goals and ranks second with 38 points. His 3.78 goals per game rank second in the Ivy League and fifth in the nation.
- Yale's man-up offense has 11 goals in 37 attempts (.297) to rank sixth in the conference and 52nd in the nation.
- The Bulldogs rank sixth in the conference and 58th in the NCAA with a .827 clear-rate. Opponents clear the ball at a .807 rate against Yale.
- Defensively, Yale allows 14.44 goals per game to rank sixth in the conference and 66th in the NCAA. Yale has allowed less than 10 goals in two games this season.
- Jared Paquette has started all nine games for the Bulldogs and holds a .498 save percentage and 14.36 goals against average. He leads the conference and ranks eighth in the NCAA with 13.73 saves per game.
- Yale's man-down defense clicks at .526 (20-38) to rank fifth in the Ivy League and tied for 63rd in the country.
- Saturday marks the 66th meeting between Brown and Yale in a series dating back to 1927.
- Brown holds a 35-30 all-time record against the Bulldogs and a 15-20 road mark.
- Brown looks to win consecutive games over Yale for the first time since taking three straight from 2007-09.
- Brown picked up its first Ivy League win of the season with a 12-11 thriller over the 14th-ranked Penn Quakers last weekend in Providence.
- Trailing 7-3 in the second quarter, the Bears clawed back to even the score at 8-8.
- Devon McLane scored his third of the game with 8:43 remaining in the fourth to give Brown its first lead of the contest at 9-8.
- Jack Kelly capped his own hat trick with the game-winning goal with 2:17 remaining to make it 12-11 Bears.
- Trevor Yeboah-Kodie forced the game-deciding turnover with seconds remaining to seal the win for Brown.
- Theriault enters the weekend with a .523 save percentage and 12.58 goals against average in 10 starts.
- Theriault's save percentage ranks third in the Ivy League and 23rd in the NCAA.
- With 13.60 saves per game, he ranks second in the conference and 11th in the NCAA.
- Kelly recorded his third career hat trick, capping it with the game-winner, in Brown's 12-11 win over Penn (Apr. 8).
- He previously recorded consecutive hat tricks against Vermont (Feb. 26) and Stony Brook (Mar. 4).
- The Zionsville, Indiana native recorded a career-high four goals and five points against the Seawolves.
- Kelly's 11 goals are tied for fourth-most on the team and he is one of eight Bears with 10 or more points this season.
- Senior Devon McLane recorded all three goals in the second half of Brown's 12-11 win over Penn (Apr. 8).
- McLane recorded his 13th career hat trick with the effort.
- Two of those goals came man-up to give McLane a team-leading five on the season. He is tied for 18th in the NCAA with the 5 man-up goals.
- Devon leads the team with 34 points and 13 assists. His 21 goals rank second on the team.
- Griffin King recorded his first career hat trick and added two assists for a career-high five points in the 12-11 win over Penn (Apr. 8).
- Dating back to last season, the senior has a goal in 13 straight games and a point in 15 straight games.
- King recorded two goals and a career-high four points in the win over Villanova (Mar. 27), marking his first career multi-assist game.
