
English Named to Canada U20 National Team for 2025 Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Men's lacrosse incoming first-year Sawyer English was named to the 22-man roster to represent Canada at the 2025 Men's U20 Championship on Jeju Island in South Korea in mid-August.
English was initially named to the 47-player selection camp roster in April. The Canada Lacrosse camp was in early June to bring the roster down to the final team.
A native of Burlington, Ontario, English is the 39th-ranked recruit in the Class of 2025 per Inside Lacrosse and played high school lacrosse at Lawrenceville in New Jersey. He also played for the Burlington Blaze Junior A team in the OJLL.
The 2025 U20 Championships will kick off on August 15 and continue through August 24. A total of 20 nations qualified for the tournament and will be split into five groups of four. Canada is in Pool A along with Australia, Haudenosaunee, and the United States.
Canada takes on the United States in a rematch of the 2022 gold medal game on August 16.
Canada and the rest of Pool A will advance directly to the quarterfinals, which are set to begin on August 21.
