At Brown Athletics we take a supportive, holistic, and evidence-based approach to nutrition. We focus on helping our students to fuel, and fuel well, so they can thrive in school, sport, and life.

A well fueled student-athlete is a happier, more resilient, and higher performing student-athlete.
Our team of registered dietitians and nutrition experts works closely with our student-athletes and coaches to help them make informed, empowered, and evidence-based nutrition decisions, this includes guidance on pre-training, in-training, and post-training fueling, as well as travel nutrition.

Enjoyment: We believe that food, nutrition, and fueling should be fun and enjoyable. It’s a source of nourishment, connection and community. We strive to help our teams with meal planning and fueling strategies that promote enjoyment and team bonding.
As a student-athlete at Brown you will have access to:
Registered dietitians with expertise in sports nutrition, hydration strategies, low energy availability, eating concerns, medical nutrition therapy, and more.
1-1 nutrition consultation to address fueling and performance needs, as well as a variety of medical nutrition needs, including gastrointestinal issues, allergies, soft tissue or bone injuries, and disordered eating.
Brown Athletics Fueling Stations stocked with nutrition, including bars, protein shakes, fresh food, electrolyte replacement drinks, and more.
Two dining halls and five eateries across campus that offer delicious meals and also accommodate a variety of dietary preferences and needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, Kosher, Halal, and other options.
Educational workshops on nutrition, fueling, and hydration for student-athletes.
A fun and enjoyable food and nutrition environment focused on helping you to feel good and achieve your goals in school, sport, and life.
