Women’s Soccer to Host Minnesota on Labor Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's soccer returns home to face the Minnesota Gophers on Monday, September 1. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
It will be Youth Day at Brown, and all attendees 12 years and under will receive free admission to the game. Youth tickets must be claimed at the ticket booth upon arrival, and players will be available for autographs after the game.
History
The Bears are 0-1-1 all-time against the Gophers, with their 2024 match ending in a 1-1 draw. This is the first time Minnesota will play at Brown, as previous matches have taken place in Minnesota.
Scouting Brown
The Bears are fresh off a victory over the UConn Huskies, whom they defeated 1-0 on Thursday. Ayla Sahin was the star of the game, scoring the lone goal of the match. Sahin has scored in all three games this season. Her speed has been relentless, outpacing defenders for all of her goals so far.
Brown has outscored their opponents 7-2, with the shots being a whopping 60-13 in their three contests thus far. They've also earned 25 corner kicks to just 8 by their opponents.
Senior goalkeeper Bella Schopp has logged most of the minutes in net for the Bears. She's made four saves this season, including one in the 86th minute against UConn to keep a clean sheet.

Paige Kalal and Davy Mokelke lead the team with three goals each. Kalal was named to the TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 Preseason List alongside teammate Ashley Thurk.
