
Vargas Earns Spot on Dominican Republic Women's Soccer National Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown Women's Soccer forward Angelina Vargas '27 was called up to the Dominican Republic Women's Soccer National team during the third window of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) World Cup Qualifiers for Brazil 2027. Vargas will compete with la República Dominicana against former Bear Brittany Raphino '23.5 and Haiti on April 17 at Stade Roger Zami at 8 p.m. local time.
Vargas' grandparents are from the Dominican Republic. This fall, Vargas saw action in 14 matches and collected three goals and three assists. In her three seasons on College Hill, Vargas has played in 41 matches, with three Ivy Tournament appearances and an Ivy League Championship (2023).
