
Men's Crew's Avery and Brooks Reavill Named to U23 National Team

PRINCETON, N.J. – Avery Reavill '16 (Culver, Ind.) and Brooks Reavill '16 (Culver, Ind.) of Brown University men's crew were recently selected to the U23 National Team and will represent the United States at the 2016 World Championships August 21-28 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, announced by USRowing.
Avery Reavill, who recently graduated from Brown with a degree in economics, earned a spot on the U23 roster for the first time in his career. His twin brother, Brooks, also made the U23 team for the first time after graduating with a degree in psychology.
The duo will row in the straight four boat at the World Rowing Championships, along with Cornell's Cuyler Hamilton and Michael Colella. The spots for the eight and four boats were determined at the under-23 selection camp, using a series of three-minute seat races over the course of two weeks.

The Reavill brothers have been a mainstay in Brown's varsity boat the last three years. The pair earned Second Team All-Ivy honors in 2014, helping the Bears to a runner-up finish at Eastern Sprints, and then took home a silver medal in the varsity eight at the IRA National Championship.
In addition, fellow alum Peter Gibson '13 will row in the senior lightweight men's pair event for his fourth appearance at the World Championships. At Brown, Gibson helped the Bears to a silver medal in the second varsity eight boat at the 2013 IRA National Championship as well as a second varsity title at Eastern Sprints.
The 2016 World Rowing Championships will be unique in that the senior, junior and under-23 events will be held simultaneously for the first time at the Willem-Alexanderbaan Rowing Regatta Venue in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
