
Softball Falls in Tough Battle at Massachusetts

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball (11-20) dropped a midweek matchup at Massachusetts (15-24), 2-1, at Sortino Field on Tuesday (April 14).
Cameron Zytkewicz Ray collected her 100th-career hit in the seventh but the Bears finished with just four hits on the afternoon.
Macy Borowski threw four innings, allowing two hits and picking up three strikeouts. Edie Cobb threw two shutout innings in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out three batters.
Brown put the first of the game on the board in the top of the third. Elli Thompson went opposite way for a triple and a single up the middle by Alyssa Villarde made it 1-0 Bears.
Massachusetts used a two-out rally in the bottom of the fourth for its two runs of the game.
The Bears earned runners in the sixth and seventh but could not find the tying run.

Brown will head across town for a game at Providence on Wednesday (April 15) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
