Softball to Face Princeton in First Round of Ivy League Tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball begins its Ivy League Tournament taking on No. 1 seed Princeton on Thursday (May 7) at 12 p.m. at Cynthia Lynn Paul '94 Field on the campus on Princeton University.
All games of the Ivy League Tournament will be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE BEARS
Brown will look to repeat at Ivy League Tournament champions from the same spot as last season, as the Bears will be the four seed in this year's tournament after finishing the regular season with an 11-9 record in league play.
Brown had three players make All-Ivy teams with Macy Borowski leading the way on the Second Team. Abby Bettencourt and Jasmine Hsiao were both named Honorable Mention All-Ivy.
Bettencourt led Brown on the year with a .340 batting average and Borowski was just behind at .330. Cameron Zytkewicz Ray led Brown with 37 hits.
Six different Bears finished with four home runs on the season, the most Bears to have four home runs in a season since at least 2012.
Elli Thompson is riding a 13-game reached base streak and Bettencourt is right behind at 12 games. Borowski has reached safely in each of her last 10 games.
In the circle, Borowski finished the regular season with 11 wins and a 3.34 ERA. Her 137 strikeouts were the most in the Ivy League and are the second-most in a single season in Brown program history.

Princeton is the top seed in the Ivy League Tournament after going 18-3 in Ivy League play, but the Tigers lost two-of-three games against Dartmouth at home to end the regular season.
Four Tigers – Cassidy Shaw, Graciela Dominguez, Sonia Zhang and Karis Ford – were named First Team All-Ivy.
Dominguez led the Tigers with a .410 batting average in the regular season. Ford and Mia Valenzuela were tied with a team-high six home runs.
Julia Dumais was the leading run producer for Princeton with 33 RBI.
In the circle, Shaw finished the year 14-3 with a team-best 2.60 ERA. In 102.1 innings pitched, Shaw added 85 strikeouts.
