PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball's Macy Borowski has been named NFCA D1 First Team All-Northeast Region, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Thursday (May 14).
Borowski earned the honor as a Utility/Pitcher after delivering both in the circle and at the plate for the Bears.
The junior finished the season with 12 wins and her 145 strikeouts were the second-most in a single season in Brown program history. Borowski finished second in the Ivy League in strikeouts and innings pitched (155.0), while finishing in the top-six in the league in ERA (3.48), opposing batting average (.256), wins and saves (2).
At the plate, Borowski had a career year, leading the Bears for the season in batting average (.343) and doubles (10). The Byron, Minn., native was second on the team in both RBI (25) and home runs (4) and third on the team with 35 hits. Borowski did most of her damage in Ivy play, upping her average to .373, adding three home runs and 17 RBI.
This is the second-straight season the Bears have had a First Team All-Region player after Laurel Moody earned that honor last season.
