
Women’s Basketball Set to Host Yale on Saturday Afternoon

Saturday's contest will serve as Brown's Alumnae Day and National Girls and Women in Sports Day Game.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (12-7, 4-3 Ivy)
- The Bears had back-to-back action last weekend, competing at Dartmouth (Jan. 30) and Harvard (Jan. 31). Brown split the weekend series defeating the Big Green 55-41, and falling 58-61 to the Crimson.
- Grace Arnolie and Alyssa Moreland combined for half of Brown's points at Dartmouth, compiling 28 points for the night.
- Four Bears closed out Saturday night's contest at Harvard in double-figures: Grace Arnolie (16), Beth Nelson (13), Ada Anamekwe (10), and Olivia Young (10).
- The Bears have totaled six games so far this season with four or more players finishing in double-figures.
- Arnolie is the second-highest scorer in the Ivy League, averaging 17.9 points per game. She ranks first in three-point percentage (.361), and second in three-point field goals per game with an average of 2.4.
- Brown continues to boast the best defense in the conference holding their opponents to an average of 55.7 points per game.
- Brown is ranked ninth nationally in field goal percentage defense, holding its opponents to just 34.9% from the field.
- The Bears have held opponents to single-digit quarters in 12 of their 19 games this season. They have done this three-straight games in a row this season, twice. Their first streak began on Nov. 28 at Bucknell, and spanned through Dec. 3 at Stonehill. The second streak began against Princeton on Jan. 24, and continued through Harvard on Jan. 31. with a chance for it to extend.
- The last time Brown won a game on Super Bowl weekend was on Feb. 11, 2023, when it defeated Cornell 76-48
- The Bulldogs also played back-to-back at Harvard (Jan. 30) and Dartmouth (Jan. 31) last weekend, dropping both contests.
- Four Bulldogs scored in double-figures at Dartmouth: Ciniya Moore (17), Ke'iara Odume (14), Marisa Chapman (13), and Mary Meng (11).
- Moore rounds out the top-three in the Ivy League in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game.
- Kiley Capstraw makes the top-10 cutoff in rebounding and steals, holding onto ninth with 6.3 rebounds per game and eighth in steals per game (1.7). Capstraw caps off the top-three in assists with an average of 4.1 per game.
- Yale has lost four of its last five contests, with its lone win coming against Cornell (58-43) on Jan. 19. The Bulldogs' win at Cornell marks Yale's only conference win so far this season.
- Brown holds a 55-46 record over Yale, dating back to 1974.
- The Bears have won the last five against the Bulldogs, including their most recent matchup last month (88-72).
- Brown is 32-16 against Yale when at home.
