PRINCETON, N.J. - The Brown women's basketball team (15-8, 7-4 Ivy) fell to the Princeton Tigers (21-3, 9-2 Ivy) 69-37 on Saturday evening inside of Jadwin Gymnasium.
Grace Arnolie led the Bears with a game-high 14 points, extending her double-figure scoring streak to 20 straight games.
Brown netted a quick six points, with baskets from Alyssa Moreland and Arnolie. The Bears found themselves in some foul trouble in the opening 10 minutes, with Princeton scoring four of their first six points from the free throw line. Both teams continued to trade baskets, before the Tigers began to pull away. A three pointer from the Tiger's Ashley Chea, followed by a pair of free-throws from Madison St. Rose gave Princeton a 16-10 advantage at the end of one.
Arnolie knocked down two triples in the early minutes of the second quarter, while Ada Anamekwe tacked on two points from free throws. The Tigers outscored the Bears in the second quarter 15-8 to hold a steady 31-18 lead at the break.
Princeton went on a 7-0 run midway through the third, but a layup from Olivia Young would put an end to it. Brown netted five more points before the end of the quarter, trailing the Tigers by 13 points heading into the final 10 minutes. Scoring was equal in the third quarter, with both the Bears and Tigers collecting 15 points.
Moreland hit a layup at the seven minute mark of the fourth quarter, with the Bears not scoring again until there was under a minute remaining in the contest. Princeton went on to net 23 points in the final quarter, distancing itself from the Bears to earn a 69-37 win.
