Women’s Basketball Hosts Cornell and Columbia in Final Home Stand

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will host Cornell (Feb. 27) and Columbia (Feb. 28) this weekend for its final two home games of the season. Friday night's tip-off is set for 7 p.m., with Saturday's tip slated for 5 p.m. inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Friday night is the team's Mental Health Awareness and Faculty and Staff Appreciation Game. Saturday evening is Senior Day, with the Bears honoring their seven-member class prior to tip-off.
Both contests will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Scouting the Bears (15-8, 7-4 Ivy)
- In their last time out, the Bears suffered a 69-37 loss to the Princeton Tigers.
- The Bears have the chance to punch their ticket to Ivy Madness on Friday night. A win over Cornell and a Harvard win over Penn will send Brown to Ithaca for its second Ivy Madness appearance.
- Grace Arnolie enters the weekend three triples away from entering fifth place in career three-pointers.
- Brown is 3-1 since restarting the Ivy League cycle, earning wins against Yale, Dartmouth, and a signature win over Harvard.
- The Bears are ranked eighth in the nation in field goal percentage defense (35.1), and 14th in three point percentage defense (26.4).
- Brown is the highest-ranked Ivy in the two categories mentioned above, as well as defensive rebounds per game (27.6), rebounds per game (41.1), and scoring defense (56.2).
- Grace Arnolie is the second-highest scorer in the Ivy League, averaging 18.1 points per game. Arnolie ranks second in three-point percentage (.359), and in three-point field goals per game with an average of 2.4.
- Alyssa Moreland continues to lead the conference in rebounds per game (10.4/g). She holds first in steals averaging 2.4 per game.
- In their last time out, the Big Red suffered a 74-37 loss to the Harvard Crimson, officially eliminating them from Ivy Madness contention.
- Two members of Cornell's squad are averaging double-figures in scoring per game: Rachel Kaus (11.8) and Emily Pape (10.1).
- Kaus rounds out the top-15 in the conference in scoring at 14th, while Pape rounds out the top-20 at 19th.
- Pape also ranks third in the Ivy League in three-point field goal percentage (.325) and three-point field goals per game (2.1).
- Kelsey Langston tallies the fourth-most minutes in the conference with an average of 34.1 per game.
- In their last time out, the Lions defeated the Dartmouth Big Green 81-42. Columbia currently sits atop the Ivy League standings, bumping Princeton into second.
- Columbia has two players averaging double-figures in scoring per game: Riley Weiss (19.7) and Perri Page (14.5).
- Weiss leads the Ivy League in scoring, while Page makes the top-10 cut at sixth. Weiss' 19.7 points per game place her within the top-25 scorers in the nation.
- Fliss Henderson has the fourth-most rebounds in the conference with an average of 7.2 per game. Page rounds out the top-10 in ninth, with an average of 6.3 rebounds per game.
- The Bears own a 61-32 record over the Big Red, and are currently on a six game winning streak that began in 2023.
- The Bears and Big Red met last month, where Brown defeated Cornell 64-48.
- Brown holds a 50-33 record over Columbia. The Lions are currently on a 14 game winning streak that began in 2018.
- Both teams met last month, with Columbia earning a 68-52 win.
