Baseball to Host Penn to Close Out 2025 Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team is set to conclude its 2025 season this weekend with a three-game series against Penn at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium. Friday's game is set for a 3 p.m. start, with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Prior to the start of Saturday's first game, the Bears will honor the six members of their senior class of 2025.

SCOUTING BROWN (9-27, 5-13 Ivy)
- The Bears are coming off a midweek 11-1 loss in eight innings at Holy Cross on Tuesday and will look to snap a five-game skid.
- Junior Mika Petersen leads the Ivy League with 52 hits and is tied with Dartmouth's Taer Rodriguez with a .362 batting average. In Ivy League play, Petersen is batting .387 with a .440 on-base percentage.
- Petersen has reached base safely in eight straight games.
- Freshman Christian Butera holds a .315 batting average and ranks second on the Bears with a .405 on-base percentage to rank among the league's top rookies.
- Junior DJ Dillehay is tied for second on the team with seven doubles, ranks third with a .277 batting average, and leads the team with 27 RBIs.
- Junior Mark Henshon will carry a 20-game on-base streak into Friday's matchup. He has a nine-game hitting streak and has a hit in 10 of his last 11 games.
- Senior Gunner Boree has reached base safely in 16 straight games and has a hit in six of his last eight contests. He leads the team with six home runs.
SCOUTING PENN (20-16, 12-6 Ivy)
- The Quakers have clinched a spot in the upcoming Ivy League Tournament and are just one game behind both Yale and Columbia for first place.
- Penn took down Wagner 12-2 in seven innings on Wednesday.
- Penn is second in the Ivy League in both batting average (.282) and team ERA (6.18).
- Jarrett Pokrovsky is among the league leaders with a .347 batting average.
- Pokrovsky enters Friday in a tie for the Ivy League and Penn program single season record for doubles with 22.
- Davis Baker is two doubles shy of tying Wyatt Henseler's school record for career doubles (50), which Henseler just set in 2024 during his senior season. Henseler is playing this season at Texas A&M.
- Head Coach John Yurkow enters the weekend with 247 career wins. He is vying to become just the third coach in program history to reach the 250-win milestone.
