Women's Soccer Takes on Princeton in Ivy Tournament Semifinals Thursday

PRINCETON, N.J. – The stage is set for a rematch in the 2025 Ivy League Women's Soccer Tournament Semifinals as the No. 4 seed Brown Bears (9-3-4, 3-2-2 Ivy) travel to face the top-seeded and host Princeton Tigers (7-5-3, 5-2-0 Ivy) on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
The winner will advance to the tournament final on Sunday at 1 p.m. and take on the winner of No. 2 Dartmouth and No. 3 Columbia for a shot at the automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Jeff O'Connor and Isis Young calling the action.
SCOUTING THE BEARS (9-3-4, 3-2-2 Ivy)
- Brown is the league's leading offense, ranking atop the Ivy League in goals, assists, and shots on goal. Junior Joy Okonye paces the Ivy with 19 points and four game-winning goals. Okonye and senior Naya Cardoza are tied with the most goals in the Ivy (seven).
- Sophomore Ayla Sahin follows with five goals, junior Corine Gregory has four, and freshman Jael-Marie Guy and junior Angelina Vargas collected three apiece.
- Sophomore Ella Weil, coming off earning the 2024 Ivy League Rookie of the Year award, has seven points this season.
- The Brown defense has held its opponent scoreless seven times this season, including three shutouts in Ivy League play.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS (7-5-3, 5-2-0 Ivy)
- Princeton is hosting the Ivy Tournament for the second consecutive season.
- Alexandra Barry scored both goals in Saturday's 2-1 victory at Brown.
- Brown and Princeton met in the championship of the 2024 Ivy League Tournament Final in the Garden State, with the Tigers earning a 2-0 win.
IVY TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- Since its inception in 2023, Brown hosted the inaugural tournament, and Princeton is hosting back-to-back years.
- Brown is 1-2 in the postseason tournament, with a victory over Columbia last season to advance to the Ivy League Tournament Finals.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Brown leads the all-time series 24-21-4, and the Bears are 6-4 against the Tigers under the direction of Messing Family Head Coach for Brown Varsity Women's Soccer Kia McNeill.
