Baseball Heads to Holy Cross for Final Non-League Matchup on Tuesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will hit the road for the final time this season on Tuesday for their final non-league game against Holy Cross. First pitch under the lights is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
It will mark the second matchup this season between the two schools, with Holy Cross scoring two runs in the ninth to take the first game 13-11 back on March 19 in Providence.

After Tuesday's game, Brown will conclude the 2024 season with a three-game home stand against Cornell with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

SCOUTING BROWN (9-26, 4-14 IVY)
- Nathan Brasher leads the team with a .351 batting average in Ivy League games (.323 overall). He has reached base in 19 of his last 20 games.
- Reece Rappoli has a five-game hitting streak after going 4-for-10 over the weekend at Yale. He is hitting .295 on the season.
- DJ Dillehay has started every game this season at shortstop and is hitting .296 with a team-leading 26 RBIs and is tied for the team lead with four home runs.
- On the mound, Paxton Meyers ranks eighth in Ivy play with 33 strikeouts over 34.0 IP.
- Brown took the first game of this past weekend's series at Yale 11-9, before falling 7-0 and 6-1 over the final two games.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS (21-24, 11-10 Patriot)
- Holy Cross is coming off winning two out of three this past weekend at Lehigh, outscoring the Mountain Hawks by a 21-8 margin over the final two games.
- The Crusaders have played just nine of their 45 games at home this season, the fewest in the Patriot League, but hold a 7-2 record in those games.
- Hitting .256 as a team, HC is led by Jimmy King and Chris Baillargeon with King holding a .302 batting average and swiping 20 bags in 21 attempts.
- Baillargeon is tied for the team lead with six home runs and is first in RBIs (30), walks (41) and total bases.
- Colin Brown is hitting .287 this year and has struck out only 16 times in 108 at bats, the fewest number of K's among qualified position players.
