
Baseball Heads to Dartmouth for Three-Game Weekend Set

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will dive back into Ivy League play this weekend with a three-game series at Dartmouth. The showdown will feature the top two pitching staffs in terms of ERA in the Ivy League.

SERIES HISTORY
Brown is 115-158-1 all-time against Dartmouth. Brown took two out of three in both 2023 and 2025 in Providence, while Dartmouth swept the three-game series in Hanover in 2024.
SCOUTING BROWN (13-12, 6-2 Ivy)
- The Bears are coming off a 10-0, eight-inning victory on Wednesday over Merrimack, and split two games last weekend at Harvard. The third game of the series was postponed to April 21.
- Brown ranks second overall in the Ivy League with a 4.76 ERA and is first in Ivy play at 2.49.
- Brown's pitching staff went 43.1 innings without allowing an earned run over four games, a streak that ended in the eighth inning last weekend in game one against Harvard.
- Freshman RHP Drew Nelson has won two Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards this season, has not allowed an earned runover his last 23.0 innings pitched, and has gone at least 7.0 innings in each of his last three starts.
- Senior RHP Peter Dubie led the entire nation with 15 strikeouts two weeks ago, all coming in his start against Princeton. His 15 strikeouts were the most in a single game by a Brown pitcher since 2008 and the most ever at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium (opened in 2017). He was named to Baseball America's National Team of the Week.
- Senior Dylan Reid has not allowed a run over the last 18.2 innings he has pitched. He tossed a scoreless inning on Wednesday in a spot start.
- Sophomore first baseman Christian Butera has reached base in 11 of his last 12 games.
- Senior Mika Petersen has reached base in 17 of the last 18 games, and has a six-game hitting streak.
- Senior Mark Henshon has reached base in 17 of his last 20 games.
- Sophomore outfielder Alex Benevento enters the weekend riding a 10-game hitting streak, ranking fifth in the league in batting average (.347) and fourth in on-base (.432).
- Senior DJ Dillehay leads the team with 23 RBIs.
- Freshman shortstop Matt Luigs is hitting .253 and leads the team with 17 walks and 13 steals.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH (6-16, 3-6)
- The Big Green are coming off a 13-3, seven-inning loss at Boston College this week, and dropped two of three last weekend against Cornell.
- Dartmouth leads the Ivy League overall with a 4.24 team ERA.
- Nate Isler leads the Big Green's starting rotation, having posted a 4.46 ERA across a team-leading 36.1 innings and 38 strikeouts.
- Nate Kugler has made two starts this season, going 2-0 in 12 scoreless innings. He's also made six relief appearances, tallying a total of 21 innings with an 0.86 ERA.
- Reigning Ivy Rookie of the Week Henry Murray leads the team with a .293 batting average and .414 slugging percentage.
