Weather Changes Schedule for Softball Series at Cornell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball will return to Ivy League play with a three-game series at Cornell over the weekend.
Due to inclement weather in Ithaca, N.Y. this weekend the two teams will now play their three-game series on Sunday (April 14) and Monday (April 15). Sunday will be a single game beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the two teams will play a doubleheader on Monday beginning at 11 a.m.
SCOUTING BROWN
Brown has won five-straight against the Big Red, including taking the last two games that Brown played in Ithaca. The last 10 meetings have all been decided by three runs or less.

SCOUTING BROWN
- The Bears are riding a season-high three-game win streak into the weekend against Cornell after sweeping Rhode Island on Tuesday (April 9). Brown won the first game 1-0 and earned a win in game two 8-0 in five innings.
- Brown's Macy Borowski and Jodie Aguirre each threw complete game shutouts in the wins.
- As a team, Brown is 21st in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.95) for the pitching staff. Alexis Guevara leads the Ivy League and is 40th in the NCAA with a 4.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
- Guevara also leads the Ivy League and is 21st in the NCAA in walks allowed per seven innings, issuing just 1.10 walks. Borowski is third in the NCAA at 1.79.
- On the offensive end, Brown is leading the Ivy League and 37th in the NCAA in doubles per game with 1.59. Dara English (0.31) and Jasmine Hsiao (0.30) are second and third in the Ivy League in doubles per game.
- Cornell is 4-19 overall and 2-7 in Ivy League play. The Big Red have lost five-straight Ivy League games since beating Columbia in its first game of the series with the Lions. Cornell was swept at Yale last weekend.
- The Big Red are fourth in the league in batting average, with a team average of .277. Lauren Holt leads the team with a .356 average.
- Holt has been the offensive spark for Cornell as she is leading the Ivy league in both home runs (8) and RBI (34).
- In the circle, Cornell's team ERA is last in the league at 7.21. Maxine McCraw has the lowest ERA on the team at 6.84. Madalyn Covelli leads the team with three wins but has a 7.32 ERA. Covelli has the most strikeouts on the team with 28 but has issued 52 walks.
