SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown has several players among the league's leaders entering this weekend, including Kyla Jones ranking second in the Ivy League at 17.1 points per game. Grace Arnolie and Alyssa Moreland are tied for the lead with 2.1 steals per game, while Moreland also ranks tied for fourth in rebounding (7.4). Isabella Mauricio also ranks third in three-point percentage (.306).
- Brown's 2-0 start to Ivy play was their first unbeaten start through two games since the 2005-06 season.
- Mauricio currently sits in sixth place on the school's all-time three-point list with 161 three-pointers for her career, nine shy of tying Colleen Kelly '06 for fifth place. Mauricio started her career at Brown making a freshman-record 70 threes. Only four Bears have ever made 200 three-pointers in their careers.
- Jones has a chance to become the 23rd Bear in program history to hit 1,000 career points. Jones currently sits at 910 career points and is coming off a season where she scored 344 points. Jones is averaging 15.2 points per game in her career, which currently sits sixth in program history.
- Brown is looking to build off a four-win Ivy campaign from a season ago. The four wins in league play were the most for the Bears since winning seven games in 2016-17. Brown beat Penn last season for its fourth Ivy League win, snapping a 21-game losing streak in the process.
- Cornell enters the weekend with a 6-9 overall record and 0-3 in Ivy play, having fallen to strong Princeton, Columbia and Penn squads.
- Sophomore forward Emily Pape leads the team in scoring with 11.6 points per game, having reached double figures in points in seven straight games. She has shot 52 percent from the floor during that stretch. She also leads the Big Red with 6.5 rebounds per game.
- Kaya Ingram is also scoring in double figures at 10.1 points per game and leads the team with 3.0 assists per contest.
- Brown leads the all-time series 53-31, with Cornell having won three of the last four matchups.
- Brown defeated Cornell 76-48 last February in Ithaca in the most recent matchup between the two schools. The 28-point margin of victory was the largest ever for the Bears in the all-time series.
