Women’s Basketball Set to Open Ivy League Play on Monday Evening at Yale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will travel to New Haven, Conn., to face the Yale Bulldogs in its Ivy League opener on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. inside of Lee Amphitheater.
The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (8-4)
- The Bears rounded out non-conference play on Monday afternoon, defeating DIII opponent Wheaton (Mass.) 76-24.
- Five Bears finished Monday's contest in double-figures: Grace Arnolie (13), Sela Klein (11), Ada Anamekwe (10), Alyssa Moreland (10), and Monét Witherspoon (10).
- Klein's 11 points marked a career-high points against the Lyons on Monday afternoon. She also assisted on a career-high four baskets, four field goals made, and one free-throw made. She tied her career-high in three-pointers made with two.
- Multiple Bears set career-highs against Wheaton with first-year guard Lindsay Harzich grabbing six rebounds, assisting on one basket, and two steals. First-year forward Isabella Wesley grabbed 10 rebounds, and tied her one block high. Witherspoon grabbed a career-high seven rebounds.
- Brown currently leads the Ivy League in combined team rebounds (42.8/g), and defensive rebounds (28.9/g). They sit second in team offensive rebounds, with an average of 13.9 per game.
- Arnolie is the fourth-highest scorer in the Ivy League, averaging 16.6 points per game. Moreland rounds out the top-10, with an average of 13.0 points per game.
- Moreland continues to lead the conference in rebounds per game (10.7/g), and field goal percentage (.540). She also holds first in steals, averaging 2.9 per game.
- Arnolie leads the Ivy League in three-point field goal percentage at .396. She ranks second in three-point field goals per game, with an average of 2.1 per game.
- The Bulldogs rounded out non-conference play at High Point where they fell short in double overtime, 83-85.
- Ciniya Moore netted a team-high 33 points in Yale's last outing at High Point. Moore shot 13-26 from the field and 2-4 from beyond the arc. Moore currently ranks second in the Ivy League in scoring with an average of 17.0 points per game.
- The Bulldogs' 83 points marks the most scored in a game since 2020 at Columbia.
- Yale ranks fourth in the Ivy League in team offensive (12.5/g) and defensive (24.0/g) rebounds. The Bulldogs are also fourth in team free throw percentage, with .728.
- Dorka Kastl leads the conference in blocked shots with 2.8 per game.
- Kiley Capstraw has the third-most assists in the Ivy League, averaging 4.3 per game. She also ranks fourth in steals per game (1.9).
- Yale began its 2025-26 campaign on a six-game losing streak that was snapped after a 63-54 win at American.
- The Bulldogs' four wins came against American (63-54), Bryant (61-48), Rider (53-52), and New Haven (63-49).
- Yale added eight newcomers in the offseason with six first-years and two transfers.
- Yale was selected to finish eighth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll.
- The Bears hold a 54-46 record over the Bulldogs.
- Brown is currently on a four-game win streak against Yale that began in 2024.
- From 1991-1997, the Bears collected 15 wins against the Bulldogs.
- Both teams first met in 1974, where Brown earned a 41-34 win.
