Scouting the Bears (3-1-1)
- One more victory would secure a winning nonconference record for the seventh straight season for the Bears, a streak that began with head coach Kia McNeill's first season at the helm in 2016.
- As a team, Brown is outshooting opponents 17.4 – 8.8 per game. The Bears' 9.0 shots on goal per game rank 23rd in the nation.
- Brown's 3.4 assists per game is the sixth-best mark in Division I.
- Through six games, Portland has neither allowed nor scored more than one goal in a single contest. All four victories have come by way of a 1-0 shutout, the lone tie was a 1-1 affair with Oregon State, and the Pilots' only loss was a 1-0 defeat to Washington State.
- Last time out, Portland took down UC Irvine 1-0 thanks to a 13th minute goal by Marlee Cavitt.
- Bre Norris has started all six games in goal, allowing only two goals for a .33 goals against average and a .857 save percentage.
- Rhode Island has a chance to pick up its first victory of the season before they take on Brown, this Thursday with a road matchup at Saint Joseph's.
- Despite being winless, only one of the Rams' games was decided by more than one goal, a 3-1 loss to Wake Forest.
- Cristina Sallent has scored one goal on the year for Rhode Island is tied for the team lead of 13 shots.
- This will be the first-ever meeting between Brown and Portland. The Pilots have played five games against Ivy League schools in their history, winning all five meetings with the most recent being a 1-0 victory over Dartmouth in 2014.
- The Bears are 21-6-1 all time against the Rams, including eight straight victories dating back to 2009.
- Last season, Brown took home the 3-1 victory in Kingston thanks to three first-half goals, including one apiece from Brittany Raphino and Ava Seelenfreund.
