Women's Crew Readies for Ivy League Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - No. 5 Brown women's crew makes the short trip north to Lake Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. for the 2023 Ivy League Championship on Sunday.
The Bears most recently won four Grand Finals at the 48th Eastern Sprints to take home the team title for the 12th time since 1990, and the Varsity 8 won the title for the 10th time since 1988.
Checking in at No. 5, Brown is the third-highest ranked team in the Ivy League entering Sunday. The Bears will face tough competition against No. 1 Princeton, No. 3 Yale, No. 8 Penn, No. 17 Radcliffe and No. 20 Columbia.
Brown's First Varsity 8 fell in a close race at Princeton back on March 25 and this will be the first time the Bears will face Yale, who lost to Princeton by four seconds on April 22.

The morning heats begin with the 1V8 race at 9:30 a.m. against Yale, Radcliffe and Dartmouth. The 2V8 race begins at 9:48 a.m. with the Bears paired against Princeton, Columbia and Dartmouth.

The Varsity 4A race is set to go at 10:06 a.m. against Yale, Columbia and Dartmouth. The Varsity 4B race will begin at 10:24 a.m. with Brown facing off against Princeton, Radcliffe and Cornell. The 3V8 then competes at 10:42 a.m. with Princeton, Radcliffe and Dartmouth.
The C4 races in the first Grand Final at 2:10 p.m. and are matched up against Yale, Penn, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell and Princeton's D4.

Depending on the results from the heats, Brown will either move on to the Grand Final or Petite Final in their respective races.

Brown won four straight Ivy Championships from 2014-2017, and finished second in 2022 and 2019 with a third-place finish in 2018.
