6/1/2025 12:12:00 PM | Women's Crew
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - For the second year in a row, the Brown women's crew programs finishes sixth overall at the NCAA Championship. The Bears, who entered the weekend ranked eighth overall in the latest Pockock/CRCA poll, outperformed their ranking en route to another Grand Final appearance for the Varsity 8.Â
Overall, Bruno earned 95 total points over the course of the weekend, good enough to place seventh in the points trophy standings. Last year's Bears had a similar result, finishing in sixth place with 99 total points. Brown has placed in the top eight of the team points standings every year this decade.Â
The V8, stroked by Jessica McGrady and coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett, finished in sixth place and posted a final time of 6:14.088 on Sunday morning. Bruno's top boat has routinely been ranked as one of the best in the nation and finished the 2024-25 season with the program's fifth straight top eight finish at the NCAA Championship.Â
The 2V8, stroked by Isla Wilding and Caitlyn Roddy, competed in the Petite Final and took home a second place finish in the race after posting a final time of 6:26.686. This result means that the Bears second boat finishes seventh overall for the second consecutive season.Â
The A4, stroked by Adair Beck and coxed by Brooke Halvorsen, also competed in the Petite Final and finished in third place with a time of 7:11.903. With this performance, the A4 finishes the spring campaign eighth overall, one spot behind its seventh place finish at last year's NCAA Championship in Bethel, Ohio. Â
In addition, Loyalty Chair for Women's Crew Head Coach Tessa Gobbo-Zimmerman '13 caps off her first year at the helm of her alma mater with a strong overall performance by all three crews in West Windsor. With a roster that was comprised mostly of underclassmen, Gobbo-Zimmerman has laid the groundwork for the next era of Brown women's crew success.Â
