Baseball Hits the Road for Three Games at Cornell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will continue Ivy League play this weekend with a three-game series on the road at Cornell with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Easter Sunday.

SCOUTING BROWN (4-17, 1-5 Ivy)
- Brown will look to rebound after getting swept at home last weekend by Yale.
- Junior pitcher Paxton Meyers will make his first career start in game one of the series after making his season debut in relief against Yale on Sunday, when he tossed 4.1 shutout innings of one-hit ball.
- Meyers was an All-Ivy Honorable Mention selection last year after ranking No. 2 in the league in ERA (3.16).
- Senior outfielder Derian Morphew has reached base in 11 straight games and has a hit in 10 of his last 11 games. He enters weekend riding a six-game hitting streak.
- Freshman Mika Petersen is riding an eight-game hitting streak and ranks second on the team among qualifiers in batting average (.292).
- Sophomore outfielder Jared Johnson enters Saturday with a nine-game hitting streak.
- Senior first baseman Ryan Marra leads the team with four homers and 17 RBIs.
- Freshman DJ Dillehay has a hit in all 10 of his games since taking over the starting shortstop role. He is batting .351 and homered in each of his last two games, including tying the game in the bottom of the ninth last Sunday against Yale.
- Freshman Logan Meusy has three hits over his last two games, including his first career triple and home run in last Sunday's second game against Yale.
SCOUTING CORNELL (4-15, 3-3 Ivy)
- The Big Red took the final game of a three-game weekend series last weekend at Columbia, and previously took two out of three on the road at Yale.
- Cornell hit .336 as a team in the series against Columbia.
- Cornell took down crosstown foe Ithaca 13-3 on Tuesday in their home opener.
- Cornell is off to its best Ivy League start since 2015 when it posted a 4-2 mark.
