Scouting the Bears (6-1-2, 2-0-0 Ivy)
- This week, the Bears find themselves ranked 21st in the nation by United Soccer Coaches, 20th by TopDrawerSoccer, and are 18th in the NCAA DI RPI.
- Brittany Raphino is coming off a two-goal performance against then-No. 13 Princeton, which earned her Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors. It was the second year in a row that Raphino scored twice against the Tigers, bringing her career Ivy League goal total to 19.
- Before allowing a goal to Princeton in their 2-1 victory, the Bears had gone 430 consecutive minutes without surrendering a goal. Their .67 goals against average is good for 33rd in the nation. Undefeated in the previous six games, Brown has only allowed two goals, just .33 per game, in that span.
- Both of Raphino's goals against Princeton were assisted by Joy Okonye and Evelyn Calhoon, with Calhoon providing the primary assist on the first goal and Okonye on the second. Okonye's seven assists on the season lead the Ivy League and are 12th in the nation. Her .78 assists per game rank her fourth among all eligible players.
- Last time out, Yale's Anite Thorvaldsdottir scored in the seventh minute of game action against Penn, but the Bulldogs would allow the Quakers to equalize 24 minutes later. The game would end in a 1-1 draw with Penn just outshooting Yale, 13-11.
- On the season, Thorvaldsdottir and Ellie Rappole are tied for the team lead of four goals.
- As a team, the Bulldogs average 1.90 goals scored per game, while allowing 1.10. Both marks rank them fifth in the Ivy League.
- Brown is 29-18-3 all-time against Yale, including a 3-1-1 mark during head coach Kia McNeill's tenure.
- This will be the first meeting between the Bears and Bulldogs since 2021, after their matchup during the 2022 season was canceled.
- In 2021, Brown took down Yale 3-2 in New Haven to cap an undefeated Ivy League campaign. Raphino scored all three goals for the Bears, who outshot Yale 18-3 on the day. It was Raphino's second career hat trick.
