HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown struck on its opening possession on a 40-yard field goal by Christopher Maron. The drive was highlighted by a 4th-and-2 conversion from just on the Penn side of midfield.
- Penn answered right back on its first possession with a five-yard touchdown run to cap a 75-yard drive and take a 7-3 lead at the 4:35 mark.
- On its second possession, Brown put together another long drive that ended with a 30-yard field goal by Maron with 13:18 left in the second quarter to cut the deficit to one. The drive was spurred by a 22-yard run by Willcox on a 3rd-and-11 at midfield.
- Brown grabbed interceptions on consecutive possessions in plus-territory from Reed and Parker. After the second pick, Owen picked up a block, then caught a shovel pass from Willcox and scampered 25 yards to paydirt to put Brown back in front 13-7 with 9:49 to go until halftime.
- Penn responded quickly with a field goal drive to pull within 13-10, connecting from 45 yards out at the 5:21 mark.
- Willcox lofted up a ball to Mahoney from 29 yards out into the left side of the end zone on third down to give the Bears a 10-point cushion, 20-10 with 2:47 to go.
- The Quakers answered to trim the deficit to three in the final minute, converting a 27-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-17 to make it 20-17 at halftime.
- After forcing Penn's first punt of the night on the first drive of the second half, Brown converted a 4th-and-4 on the drive, before Solomon Miller took a pitch from Willcox on the jet sweep and took off around the left end untouched 19 yards for a touchdown that pushed Brown the 27-17 lead at 9:41.
- After converting their third fourth down on as many tries, Brown had to settle for a 21-yard field goal from Maron to make it 30-17 with 1:45 left in the third.
- Penn converted a 4-and-4 as part of a nine play, 80-yard drive to pull within 30-24 following a 13-yard touchdown pass from Aidan Sayin to Jared Richardson with 8:57 to go.
- Driving deep into Brown territory in the final minute, Reed won the jump ball battle and came away with a crucial interception in the end zone with 56 seconds left.
- Penn forced a three and out for the Bears. Forced to punt from their own end zone, Brown purposely took a safety with 33 seconds left. Getting the ball at their own 40 following the free kick, the Quakers picked up one first down before Eutsay's sack as time expired clinched the victory.
