#7 Men's Crew Closes Home Slate Against #5 Dartmouth
4/23/2022 9:15:00 PM | Men's Crew
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Seventh-ranked Brown men's crew welcomed fifth-ranked Dartmouth to the Seekonk River Saturday afternoon. The Big Green snapped Brown's two-year winning streak by capturing the Atalanta Cup with the Varsity 8 win.
"We came into this race with a fair amount of momentum after strong performances last weekend," said Head Coach Paul Cooke '89. "The team spirit was strong and the energy was high. Despite that, Dartmouth was able to respond to every challenge we made. They were impressive across all five races. We are lucky to have them on our schedule and to have the opportunity to respond and to make adjustments in the weeks ahead."
Brown's Varsity 8 crew posted a time of 6:24.8, finishing 1.6 seconds behind the top Big Green crew.
The 2V8 crew posted a time of 6:35.6 on the Seekonk and the 3V8 crew posted a time of 6:19.3 in the variable winds.
Brown's 4V8 posted a time of 6:19.1 to finish behind the Big Green and the 5V8 clocked a time of 7:22.0 to finish second.
Brown heads to New Jersey to take on Princeton for the Content Cup on Lake Carnegie on Saturday, April 30.
