PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The seventh-ranked Brown Bears close the dual race season with a clash against the ninth-ranked Princeton Tigers for the Content Cup on Lake Carnegie Saturday morning.
Saturday's races are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with the 4V8 and continue through the 5V8 race at 9:30 a.m. The 3V8 will race at 8:45 a.m. with the 2V8 at 9 a.m. and the Varsity 8 race at 9:15 a.m. All five races will stream on ESPN+.
Saturday's race for the Content Cup marks the 27th meeting between Brown and Princeton dating back to 1994. Both teams have previously won the cup 13 times. The Bears captured the Cup in 2018 to snap a four-year Princeton winning streak, but the Tigers reclaimed the Cup in 2019 on Lake Carnegie.
Brown welcomed fifth-ranked Dartmouth to the Seekonk River in the final home race of the season last Saturday (Apr. 23), falling to the Big Green by a 1.6-second margin in the Varsity 8 race for the Atalanta Cup.
Prior to the race against the Big Green, Brown raced against eighth-ranked Northeastern on the Charles River, winning all three races against the Huskies on Saturday (Apr. 16).
Princeton enters Saturday's race after taking a win by disqualification over Yale last Saturday (Apr. 16) on Lake Housatonic. The Bulldogs 1V8 crew crossed the line nearly seven seconds ahead of Princeton and Cornell, but cut inside a turn buoy and were disqualified.
On Saturday, April 16, the Harvard Crimson edged out Princeton by six seconds on the Charles River for the Compton Cup.
Following Saturday's races on Lake Carnegie, Brown and Princeton will both compete in the 2022 Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 15 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.
