Men's Hockey Takes on St. Lawrence and Clarkson in Final Regular Season Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (6-17-3, 6-11-3 ECAC) close the regular season on the road at St. Lawrence (8-16-6, 6-10-4 ECAC) on Friday (Feb. 25) and at 17th-ranked Clarkson (18-8-6, 13-3-4 ECAC) on Saturday (Feb. 26).
Both games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the final weekend of the season with a 6-17-3 overall record and 6-11-3 ECAC mark. The Bears are tied for seventh in the standings alongside Princeton with 23 league points. The Bears are 2-3-3 in February, all conference games.
- Senior forwards Justin Jallen and Michael Maloney lead the Bears with eight goals. Jallen leads the team with 15 points and 68 shots on goal. Junior defensemen Samuli Niinisaari (10) and Luke Krys (9) lead the team in assists.
- Brown's penalty kill ranks seventh in the ECAC and 18th in the NCAA, clicking at 83.7% (87-for-104).
- Between the pipes, freshman Mathieu Caron holds a 2.79 goals against average and .911 save percentage in 19 starts. His save percentage ranks sixth in the NCAA among freshmen.
- St. Lawrence enters the weekend with an 8-16-6 overall record and 6-10-4 ECAC mark. The Saints are tied for ninth in the conference standings with 22 points, one point behind Brown and Princeton.
- The Saints have lost three of the last four, falling at home to Quinnipiac (Feb. 11) and Princeton (Feb. 12) before earning a weekend split with an overtime win over Cornell (Feb. 18) and a loss to Colgate (Feb. 19).
- St. Lawrence has struggled at the newly-renovated Appleton Arena, holding just a 2-10-2 home record. St. Lawrence's last win at home came on December 31 against Omaha.
- Kaden Pickering leads the Saints with 10 goals and 16 points. He shares the team-lead in goals with Max Dorrington and Justin Paul. In addition to the three aforementioned players, David Jankowski (12) and Aleksi Peltonen (10) are the other Saints with double-digit points.
- The Saints struggle on the power play with just seven man-up goals in 104 attempts this season. SLU has allowed two short handed goals. St. Lawrence's penalty kill clicks at 85.1% (91-for-114) to rank fifth in the ECAC and 14th in the NCAA.
- Between the pipes, Emil Zetterquist has started 27-of-30 games to hold a 2.74 goals against average and .899 save percentage.
- Friday night marks the 95th meeting between Brown and St. Lawrence in a series dating back to 1952. St. Lawrence holds the series edge with a 48-32-14 record over the Bears. At Appleton Arena, the Saints hold a 25-12-7 record against the Bears.
- Brown holds a 4-3-3 record against St. Lawrence in the last 10 meetings and will win the season series for the third straight time with a victory on Friday.
- Clarkson enters the weekend with an 18-8-6 overall record and 13-3-4 ECAC mark. The Golden Knights rank 17th in the NCAA per the DCU/USCHO.com Poll and comfortably sit in second in the ECAC standings with 47 points.
- Clarkson is 9-1-2 in its last 12 games, most recently falling to Cornell on the road (Feb. 19).
- Clarkson's offense leads the ECAC and ranks 12th in the NCAA with 3.34 goals scored per game. The power play leads the conference and ranks 21st in the NCAA at 21.4% (25-for-117).
- Anthony Romano leads the Golden Knights with 15 goals. Mathieu Gosselin leads the team with 22 assists and 30 points. Seven Golden Knights have 20 or more points and another five have double-digit points.
- Defensively, Clarkson is second in the ECAC and ninth in the NCAA with 2.25 goals against per game. On the penalty kill, the Golden Knights are fourth in the conference and 13th in the NCAA at 85.7% (102-for-119).
- Between the pipes, Ethan Haider has made 26 starts and holds a 2.32 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. Jacob Mucitelli has played in 14 games, making six starts, and holds a 1.25 goals against average and a .946 save percentage.
- As a unit, Brown's defensemen have contributed 40 points, over one-third of Brown's offense. The blue-liners have 33 of the team's 74 assists, nearly half.
- The defensemen have 235 total shots, nearly 40% of Brown's total output.
- Clarkson will mark the eighth opponent Brown has faced 100 or more times in program history.
- The Golden Knights join the five other Ivy League programs - Cornell (135), Dartmouth (165), Harvard (180), Princeton (178), and Yale (190). Brown has also faced Providence (105) and Rensselaer (107) over 100 times.
- Colgate and St. Lawrence are likely to be the ninth and 10th programs to face Brown 100 times. Following this weekend, Brown has met St. Lawrence 95 times and Colgate 97 times.
- Just eight points separate fifth-place Colgate (30) from ninth-place St. Lawrence and Union (22). Just five points separate sixth-place Rensselaer from ninth-place St. Lawrence and Union (22).
- In the final weekend of the regular season, all teams are scheduled to play on Friday and Saturday night. Princeton and Harvard have played 19 games each, and will square off on Sunday in New Jersey.
