Men's Hockey Closes First Half at Yale in Pivotal ECAC Game Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (3-8-0, 3-5-0 ECAC) close the first half of the 2021-22 season Friday night against the Yale Bulldogs (2-7-0, 1-6-0 ECAC) in a pivotal ECAC conference game at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Connecticut.

Friday night's game is set to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE BEARS

Brown enters Friday with a 3-8-0 overall record and 3-5-0 ECAC mark. The Bears sit seventh in the ECAC standings with 10 points.
Brown looks for its third straight conference win on Friday after taking a 2-0 win over Harvard (Dec. 3) and a 4-0 win over Dartmouth (Dec. 4) last weekend at Meehan Auditorium.
Michael Maloney leads the Bears with four goals in 11 games played. Justin Jallen leads the Bears with five assists and six points.
Between the pipes, reigning ECAC Goaltender of the Week Mathieu Caron holds a 2.83 goals against and a .919 save percentage in seven starts. Caron ranks third in the ECAC and 19th in the NCAA in save percentage.
Brown's penalty kill ranks fifth in the conference and 10th in the country with an 86.7% kill rate (39-for-45).

Yale enters Friday night with a 2-7-0 overall record and 1-6-0 ECAC conference mark.
After opening the season with six straight losses, the Bulldogs claimed consecutive wins over Vermont (Nov. 24) and Dartmouth (Dec. 3) before falling to Harvard (Dec. 4).
Niklas Allain leads the team with three goals and six points. Allain, Cole Donhauser, and Dylan Herzog are tied for the team-lead with three assists apiece.
Between the pipes, all three of Yale's goaltenders have started at least two games.
Luke Pearson leads the trio with a 2.28 goals against and a .913 save percentage in 157:49 minutes played.
Connor Hopkins holds a 4.74 goals against and a .864 save percentage in 139:09 minutes played.
Nathan Reid holds a 2.97 goals against and an .890 save percentage in 242:04 minutes played.
