Men's Hockey Visits No. 20 Union for ECAC Opening Round Battle

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - After finishing the men's ice hockey regular season against one another just one week ago, No. 20 Union (21-10-3, 11-9-2 ECAC) will host Brown (5-23-2, 4-16-2 ECAC) at M&T Bank Center on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the opening round of the ECAC Hockey tournament.

The fifth-seeded Garnet Chargers defeated the 12-seed Bears 3-0 on Saturday, Feb. 28, in Providence. Saturday will be the first playoff game to be hosted at M&T Bank Center. With a Bears win, Brown would head to top-seeded Quinnipiac for a three-game series, beginning on Friday, March 13. With a Garnet Chargers win, Union heads to Princeton for a three-game set against the Tigers.

- Tyler Shea has 14 games with at least 30 saves and three games with 40 or more saves. This season, he holds a .916 save percentage, the 12th-best mark in single-season program history.

- Union boasts the No. 1 penalty kill in NCAA Division I, operating at a 90.6% success rate. They have killed off 14 consecutive penalties and have not allowed a power-play goal in five games.
- The Garnet Chargers feature five players with double-digit goals and assists: Brandon Buhr (18 goals, 15 assists), Ben Muthersbaugh (18 goals, 15 assists), Tyler Dunbar (12 goals, 18 assists), Lucas Buzziol (12 goals, 11 assists), and Colby MacArthur (10 goals, 17 assists).
