
Men’s Hockey Set to Visit BU on Wednesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will continue non-conference action on Wednesday night when the Bears visit Boston University at Agganis Arena.

Brown returned from a three-week break on Saturday as the Bears fell at New Hampshire, 5-1. UNH scored four time in the first period, including three-straight goals to open the contest, and netted a pair of power-play goals. Bradley Cocca scored on the power play for the lone Brown tally of the game. Gavin Nieto allowed three goals as the starter before Gabriel Vinal came in for his first career game. Vinal finished with 35 saves, including 17 stops in the middle period. Justin Jallen paced the Brown lineup with three shots.

Boston University (6-6-5) is unbeaten over its last four games, including a pair of recent exhibition contests against Concordia and the USA U18 Team. BU is averaging 3.18 goals per game and is led by defenseman David Farrance, who has ten goals and a team-best 22 points. Patrick Curry also has ten goals and Patrick Harper leads the way with 13 assists. Farrance also leads the nation with eight power-play goals, while the Terriers check in at 18.5 percent on the power play. Sam Tucker (6-4-5) has started 16 of 17 games and heads into Wednesday night with a 2.63 GAA and a .913 save percentage.

Wednesday's game between Brown and BU will be the 82nd meeting between the two schools and the first game since the 2010-11 season. Brown will face off against a familiar face in former Bear Alex Brink '19, who joined the Terriers as a grad student after graduating from Brown last May. Brown will wrap up three-straight games against Hockey East opponents on Wednesday as part of a five-game non-conference stint. The Bears previously faced off against UMass and New Hampshire.
