Men's Hockey Drops Conference Game at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown Bears (4-19-1, 3-12-1 ECAC) battled back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game, but the Princeton Tigers (14-9-1, 10-6-0 ECAC) held on for a 5-3 home win Saturday night at Hobey Baker Rink.
Princeton opened the scoring 13 minutes into the game as Luc Pelletier beat Brown goaltender Tyler Shea (36 saves) for his fifth goal of the season. Jayden Sison and Drew Garzone assisted on the goal.
Jaxson Ezman doubled the Tiger lead with 10 seconds remaining in the first on the power play. Ezman's ninth goal of the season was assisted by Kai Daniells and David Jacobs. s
Andrew King tallied his fifth goal of the season to bring the Bears within a goal 6:34 into the second period. King forced a Princeton turnover in the offensive zone and his shot deflected off the post and through Princeton goaltender Arthur Smith (17 saves) for the unassisted goal.
Mike Cataldo tied the game moments after a Princeton penalty expired 9:55 into the second with his third goal of the season. Cataldo intercepted a Princeton breakout pass and drove to the net, beating Smith with a quick shot.
Princeton took a 3-2 lead 13:45 into the second on its fourth power play opportunity of the period as Jake Manfre found the back of the net.
Brown pushed for the equalizer late in the second period and Alex Pineau's shot hit the crossbar with 2:30 remaining in the period.
The Bears pulled Shea for the extra attacker with 2:15 remaining in the third and Jacobs found the empty net to push the score to 4-2 with 54 seconds remaining.
With Shea still pulled, Ben Poitras scored his ninth goal of the season with 12 seconds remaining. Charlie Gollob and Michael Salandra assisted on the goal.
Brendan Gorman was awarded a goal with one second remaining after being tripped up on a breakaway with the empty net to push the final score to 5-3.
