
Men’s Hockey Set to Host No. 13 Harvard, Dartmouth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will kick off a four-game homestand this weekend when the Bears host No. 13 Harvard (11/15) and Dartmouth (11/16) at Meehan Auditorium. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Last Time Out
Brown split a pair of conference road games last weekend, falling at Cornell before earning a win at Colgate. Luke Kania made 42 saves against the Raiders, highlighted by 23 stops in the opening period to earn the victory in his first start of the season. Justin Jallen added a pair of goals, while Tristan Crozier and Michael Maloney also found the back of the net, as the Bears scored three goals in the middle frame. Brent Beaudoin picked up the team's lone goal in the loss at Cornell.

Sophomore defenseman John Rathbone leads the team with three goals, one of six skaters with multiple goals on the season, while Casey Dornbach has a team-high five assists. The Crimson have two power play goals (15.4 percent) and rank fourth in the ECAC on the penalty kill. Mitchell Gibson has started two out of the three games in net and heads into the weekend with a 1.00 GAA and a .969 save percentage. Harvard reached the ECAC Tournament semifinals last season and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament, falling in the regional semifinal.

Brown and Harvard have met 176 times, with the Crimson leading the all-time series, 116-47-13. Brown won the very first meeting between the two schools in the oldest active collegiate hockey rivalry, winning 6-0, in 1898 on a flooded baseball field in Dorchester, Mass. Harvard swept the season series last winter.
Scouting Dartmouth
Dartmouth (1-2-1, 1-1-1) defeated Princeton last weekend for its first win of the season and will face Yale on Friday before making the trip to Providence. Dartmouth is averaging 3.00 goals per game, checking in at 11.1 percent on the power play, and allowing 3.75 goals per contest. Senior forward Daniel Warpecha leads the team with three goals and Jeffrey Losurdo has four assists and five points. Senior Adrian Clark is 1-1-1 with three starts in net and enters the weekend with a 2.53 GAA and a .906 save percentage. The Big Green finished tied for fifth in the ECAC standings last season and fell to Harvard in the ECAC Tournament quarterfinals.
