James Logan Hatch joined the Brown University women’s basketball staff in July 2025 as their Operations Coordinator.
Hatch arrived at Brown after two years with Columbia University women’s basketball, where he advanced through multiple operations roles. He began as a Data Analyst and Graduate Manager before serving as Special Assistant to Staff, Graduate Assistant, Recruiting Analyst, and ultimately Assistant Director of Basketball Operations. During his tenure with the Lions, Hatch contributed to back-to-back Ivy League Championships, consecutive at-large NCAA Tournament berths, and the program’s first March Madness victory.
In addition to his work at Columbia, Hatch gained industry experience at NBC Sports in Digital Commercial Operations, where he supported live stream operations for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and oversaw advertising content distribution.
At Stanford University, Hatch served as a team manager for the men’s basketball program during the 2021-22 season. He also contributed to football game day operations and fan experience for women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, softball, and baseball.
A native of Florence, Ariz., Hatch was the first Arizonan to earn a Computer Science STEM Scholar distinction on his high school diploma from Poston Butte High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University and a Master of Science in Sports Management from Columbia University.
