Volleyball Earns Road Sweep at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – Brown volleyball (13-7, 8-3 Ivy) swept Dartmouth (7-14, 4-7 Ivy) on Friday night (Nov. 7), 25-19, 25-13, 25-12.
The Bears dominated the Big Green throughout the match as Brown hit .385 on the night and held Dartmouth to just .087 hitting. Brown hit .484 in the second set and .480 in the third set, committing just two errors in each frame.
Sophia Wolfson led Brown with 13 kills, hitting .600. Mariia Sidorova collected 11 kills and Sarah Shaw had eight kills while hitting .500. Julia Kakkis finished the night with 36 assists.
Jessie Golden led Brown with 11 digs as the senior moved into third place all-time in Brown program history with 1,433 career digs. Eve McLaury was second on the team with eight digs and Sidorova added seven. Brown finished the night with eight blocks with Wolfson collected six and Kakkis adding four.
Fisayo Afonja led Brown with three aces as the Bears finished with eight on the night.
The Bears jumped ahead quickly in the first as the Bears took a 9-2 lead, capped by an ace from Sidorova. Dartmouth pulled within four before a 3-0 run with kills by Wolfson and Ally Panzloff made it 19-12. Another Wolfson kill ended the set for Brown.
Another fast start, including a 6-0 run ended with kills by Sidorova and Wolfson put Brown up 8-2 to start the second. Wolfson dominated a 5-0 run later in the set with three kills and two blocks as Brown took control of the frame, going up 19-9. Brown took a 2-0 match lead with a kill by Panzloff and block by the duo of Wolfson and Kakkis.
Trying to avoid the sweep, Dartmouth took a 12-10 lead midway through the third. That would be the last point Dartmouth would score as Brown won the final 15 points of the set. Afonja had two aces during the run while Kakkis added two kills and two blocks.
GAME NOTES
Brown will play its final road game of the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 8) as the Bears will take on Harvard at 6 p.m.

- Brown's .385 hitting percentage is the highest this season by 68 points. The last time Brown hit .385 or better in a match was against Columbia on Oct. 11, 2024 when the Bears hit .392 (31 games).
- Wolfson hit .600 for the second time this season and the first time since the season opener. The sophomore now has six-straight matches with double-figure kills.
- Brown's eight Ivy wins gives the Bears five-straight winning seasons in Ivy play, the longest stretch in program history.
