Peri Sheinin ‘21 joins the Brown women's tennis coaching staff after a successful high school and collegiate tennis campaign. The Rhode Island native went undefeated over four years of regular season play, compiling a 68-0 record along with three RIIL Division I State Championship titles at East Greenwich High School.
In 2020, Sheinin was named the Providence Journal Rhode Island Player of the Decade. She captured two gold balls at the USTA National Women’s Open Grass Court Championships. In college, Sheinin played for the Bears and graduated with an Honors degree in English while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
After graduation, Sheinin spent three years as a sports broadcaster. She founded and hosts On The Rise, the first show devoted to women’s college tennis. On The Rise is part of the Tennis Channel Podcast Network. Sheinin also serves as a play-by-play commentator covering college and professional tennis for Cracked Racquets on ESPN digital platforms.
In addition to her work in sports media, Sheinin is a strong voice advocating for women in sports. She uses her podcast and social platforms to discuss mental health, body image, and identity evolution during and after competitive sports.
