10/10/2025 9:55:00 PM | Women's Tennis
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brown women's tennis team advanced two doubles teams, and four singles to the rounds of 32 in the ITA Regionals.
Abigail Lee, Anne Yang, Ali Maguy, and Hannah Shen all reached the round of 32 in singles. In doubles, the pairings of Dani Ben-Abraham and Abigail Lee, along with Ali Maguy and Anne Moody advanced to the doubles round of 32.
Abigail Lee overcame Siena's Manuela Gomez, winning 7-5, 6-1. Anne Yang also triumphed, defeating Ivy League opponent Sam Grosjean from Dartmouth, 6-2, 7-5. Ali Maguy prevailed against Yale's Erin Ha, 6-3, 6-4, maintaining Brown's momentum. Meanwhile, Hannah Shen battled through three sets to defeat Syracuse's Haram Kim, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. Dani Ben-Abraham dropped her match to Cornell's Michelle Ryndin, 6-3, 6-4. Sari Woo was also defeated, falling to Viktoria Lorentzon of Marist, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles, Dani Ben-Abraham and Abigail Lee dominated Colgate's Gabrielle Bohan and Caroline Brown, 8-2. Ali Maguy and Anne Moody controlled their match, defeating Harvard's Elsie Ragatz and Isabella Ohr, 8-3. Sari Woo and Hannah Shen put forth a valiant effort, but ultimately dropped their match to Stonehill's Annelise Beltran and Julie Holte, 8-5. Isabella Hu and Anne Yang mounted a late push but ultimately fell to Yale's Julia Werdiger and Erin Ha, 8-6.
"Good day for the Bears today at ITA Regionals," said Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "In addition to two doubles teams advancing into the round of 32, four of our singles players moved into the round of 32 in the singles main draw."
"Annie continues to hone her aggressive game style anchored by her weapon serve. She was able to rush her opponent, not giving her much time to use her variety. Ali competed fearlessly and really stuck to her aggressive game plan the entire match, beating a quality player from Yale. She was clutch in big moments and relentlessly attacked the net," Schmidhauser added.
"Abbey played a smart match and used her variety and all-court play to handily win her match. Hannah was incredibly tough under pressure, coming back from a 2-6 deficit to overpower a very good Syracuse opponent. Hannah showed a lot of courage in her 6-4 in the third set victory."
