Oshinskie Selected by the Brewers in Sixth Round of MLB Draft

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown rising senior Ryan Oshinskie was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round (192nd pick) of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday.
Oshinskie is the 27th Brown alum to be selected in the MLB Draft, and the first to be drafted directly out of Brown since Reid Anderson in 2018. When Oshinskie makes his professional debut, he will become the 102nd former Brown Bear to play professionally (the 92nd in affiliated pro ball).
A Fairfield, Connecticut native, Oshinskie will join the same organization as his former Brown teammate, Jack Seppings, who signed with the Brewers in 2024 and is currently playing in Double-A. The duo is among five former Bears pitchers who are currently on MILB rosters, along with Zach Fogell '22 (Red Sox), Charlie Beilenson '22 (Mariners) and Bobby Olsen '23 (Cardinals).
Oshinskie did not pitch for Brown in 2026 due to injury, when the Bears reached the Ivy League Tournament finals. In the summer of 2025, he posted a 1.93 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP while pitching for the Orleans Firebirds in the Cape Cod League. As a sophomore in 2025 for the Bears, he made eight appearances out of the bullpen, striking out 27 batters over 16.1 innings. As a freshman in 2024, he ranked second on the team with 16 appearances, striking out 33 batters over 26.2 innings. During the summer of 2024, he was named the Top Reliever of the Year in the NECBL when he posted a 0.92 ERA with 28 strikeouts over 19.2 innings for the Bristol Blues.
