Women’s Lacrosse Closes Non-Conference Play Against Vermont on Wednesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's lacrosse team (4-5, 1-2 Ivy) will close non-conference play against Vermont (6-5, 2-1 America East) on Wednesday, the opening draw control is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Wednesday's non-conference finale will be Brown's Pink Out and Breast Cancer Awareness Game. Fans can purchase tickets here.
Scouting Brown
Brown will look to begin its home slate with four-straight wins for the first time since the 2014 season; the Bears have defeated Holy Cross, Cornell, and Bryant at Stevenson-Pincince Field this season. Overall, Brown will look to snap a two-game losing streak.
Ruby Sliwkowski leads the Bears in goals (21), assists (15), and points (36), the junior has recorded three or more points in seven out of nine games this season. Most recently, Sliwkowski recorded four points at Harvard. The Kennebunkport, Maine native ranks in the top 10 in the Ivy League in goals per game (2.33), assists per game (1.67), and points per game (4.0).
Tessie Batchelder has scored in seven-straight games, the freshman ranks second on the Bears in goals (15) and points (22). Mackenzie Conway ranks second in the Ivy League in ground balls per game (2.67), Annie Dignazio ranks seventh in draw controls per game (3.33).
Scouting Vermont
The Catamounts will look for its third-straight win after defeating UMBC and New Hampshire in their last two outings. In non-conference play, Vermont is 4-4.
Lydia Doraz and Jane Trauger both lead the Catamounts in goals (26), Doraz leads the squad in assists (17) and points (43). Doraz and Trauger both rank in the top 10 in the America East in goals per game (2.36), Doraz ranks in the top five in points per game (3.91).
Ayla Shea ranks second in the America East in save percentage (.509) and third in saves per game (8.50).
History
Brown is 7-2 all-time against Vermont and 1-0 under head coach Katrina Dowd. Last season, the Bears earned a 20-6 win over the Catamounts at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
