Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Brown women's lacrosse team (4-5, 1-2 Ivy) fell 12-9 at Harvard (4-5, 1-2) on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field.
Ruby Sliwkowski and Riley Peterson each recorded hat tricks as Kiki Tormey, Caroline Nozzolillo, and Tessie Batchelder each found the back of the net. Nozzolillo dished out a team-high two assists as Sliwkowski had one. Annie Dignazio had a career-high eight draw controls to go along with two caused turnovers.
Mackenzie Conway stopped 10 shots in the loss.
Harvard outscored Brown 6-1 in the opening quarter as the Crimson outshot the Bears 11-3 in the opening 15 minutes.
Harvard extended its lead to 8-1 before Nozzolillo found the back of the net. The Crimson went on to tally two more goals before Sliwkowski found the back of the net with five seconds remaining in the first half to cut the lead to 10-3 heading into halftime.
Brown outscored Harvard 2-1 in the third behind one goal each from Peterson and Tormey, the Crimson took an 11-5 advantage into the final 15 minutes.
The Bears opened the fourth quarter on a 3-0 run behind goals from Sliwkowski, Peterson, and Batchelder. The run cut the Crimson's lead to 11-8. Each team found the back of the net one more time as the Crimson held on for the victory.
Brown outscored Harvard 6-2 in the second half while winning seven out of nine draw controls.
Brown will conclude non-conference play on Wednesday, Apr. 1 when it welcomes Vermont, the opening draw control is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Fans can purchase tickets here.
