Softball to Spend Weekend at Boston University for Four Games

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball makes the trip up I-95 to play at the Boston University Round Robin over the weekend. The Bears will play two games against the host Terriers and two games against UMass Lowell.
Brown begins the weekend facing UMass Lowell on Saturday (March 14) at 10:30 a.m. and will play Boston U. at 12:45 p.m. On Sunday (March 15), the Bears will start the day against UMass Lowell at 10:30 a.m. before closing out play against Boston U. at 3 p.m.
Only the two games against Boston University are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE BEARS
- Brown is 1-9 on the season after dropping all five games at the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge in Jacksonville, Fla., over the weekend.
- Both Lilly Burns and Macy Borowski hit their first-career home runs over the weekend.
- Maggie Foxx hit .500 for the weekend and now leads Brown with a .375 batting average.
- Four Bears (Foxx, Elli Thompson, Cameron Zytkewicz Ray and Jasmine Hsiao) are tied for the team-lead with six hits.
- UMass Lowell is 9-9 on the season. The Riverhawks dropped both games of a midweek doubleheader at George Mason on Wednesday (March 11), losing 2-1 in nine innings and 1-0.
- Prior to the losses, UMass Lowell had won four-straight games and five of its last six games.
- Elizabeth Neeld is leading the lineup with a .364 batting average. Julia Rowley is tops on the team with 19 hits, five doubles and two home runs. She has also driven in 12 runs.
- Olivia DeCitise leads the team in the circle with a 2.29 ERA, 6-4 record and 58 strikeouts in 55.0 innings pitched.
- This will be the first meeting between Brown and UMass Lowell.
- Boston University is 14-10 on the season and have won seven-straight games coming into the weekend. The Terriers beat Quinnipiac 7-0 and 12-1 in five innings in a doubleheader on Tuesday (March 10).
- The Terriers are hitting .305 as a team with a Irys Kline leading the team at .371. Brooke Deppiesse leads Boston University with 29 hits.
- Kylie Doherty is tops on the team with eight home runs and 24 RBI.
- Kasey Ricard has thrown a team-high 92 innings, has a 10-5 record and 4.11 ERA. Ricard has a team-best 95 strikeouts.
- Brown is 14-18-1 all-time against Boston U. and ended a three-game losing streak to the Terriers last season when Brown walked off against BU with a Laurel Moody home run to win 8-7.
