Men’s Lacrosse Opens Ivy League Play at #11 Cornell on Saturday

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Brown men's lacrosse team (3-2) will open Ivy League play at #11 Cornell (3-2) on Saturday, the opening face-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field.
Scouting Brown
In its last outing, the Bears fell 19-7 at then-No. 6 North Carolina (Mar. 7). Marcus Wertheim led the way offensively for Brown with two goals and two assists.
Connor Foley ranks ninth nationally in saves per game (13.6), 10th in save percentage (.581), and 24th in goals against average (10.07). Through five games, Foley ranks second in the Ivy League in saves per game and fourth in save percentage.
Jeremy Hopsicker is tied for fifth in the Ivy League in goals per game (2.6) and is seventh in total goals (13). Henry Brayer leads the Ivy League in ground balls per game (7.20), Matt Egan (1.2) and Charlie Cave (1.0) both rank in the top 10 in the Ivy League in caused turnovers per game.

The Big Red will look to snap a two-game losing streak after falling to Richmond (Feb. 28) and Penn State (Mar. 7). Prior to those two losses, Cornell opened the season 3-0.
Willem Firth ranks second in the Ivy League in points per game (4.6), total points (23), fourth in goals per game (2.8), and fifth in total goals (14).
Michael Melkonian ranks second in the Ivy League in face-off percentage (.679).
History
Brown is 22-44 all-time against Cornell and will look to snap a three-game losing streak against the Big Red. Brown's last win against Cornell came during the 2022 season.
