PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of Brown baseball alums have been named to the final rosters for the upcoming World Baseball Classic. Charlie Beilenson '22 will represent Israel and Jack Seppings will suit up for Great Britain.
For Seppings, this will be the second time he will represent his country in the worldwide tournament. The dual U.S. and Great Britain citizen was a member of Great Britain's taxi squad for the last WBC in 2023.
Seppings played at Brown for three seasons from 2022-2024 before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Milwaukee Brewers. This past season he posted a 3-2 record with a 3.67 ERA over 37 relief appearances and ended the season with the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Beilenson spent four years at Brown before graduating in 2022 and pitching for two years as a grad transfer at Duke. He was then drafted in the fifth round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. He split the 2025 season between High-A and Double-A, compiling a 4.02 ERA with a 4-4 record and 75 strikeouts over 62.2 innings. Last week, the Mariners announced Beilenson would be a non-roster invitee to spring training.
The World Baseball Classic will run from March 6-17. Israel will participate in Pool D at LoanDepot Park in Miami, while Great Britain will compete in Pool B and open up at Houston's Minute Maid Park.
