Baseball Welcomes Princeton for an Ivy League Home Series this Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will host Princeton for a three-game Ivy League series this weekend at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium. Both squads are coming off two-out-of-three series wins to open league play last weekend.

- The Bears are coming off a 6-0 loss to Stonehill on Tuesday in non-league action.
- Brown took two of three from reigning Ivy co-champion Yale last weekend.
- Senior Dylan Reid and freshman Drew Nelson both earned weekly awards from the Ivy League for their performances on the mound last weekend.
- On Sunday, Brown's offense grinded out at bats in the 8-0 win, with seven of the runs scoring with two outs, and six scoring with two strikes on the hitter.
- Brown ranks fourth in the Ivy League with a .255 team batting average this season, while the pitching staff ranks fourth with a 6.57 ERA.
- Senior Mika Petersen enters the weekend with an 11-game on-base streak and has a hit in seven of the last eight games.
- Senior Mark Henshon has reached base in 12 of his last 13 games.
- Sophomore outfielder Alex Benevento ranks fourth in the Ivy League with a .338 batting average. He ranks second in the league in hits (23), fourth in slugging (.529), fifth in on-base (.430), and fifth in runs (15).

- Princeton won two out of three last weekend at home over Cornell, outscoring the Big Red 28-13.
- Sophomore Will Robbins ranks second in the league with a .580 slugging pct. and is fourth with five doubles. He leads the Tigers with a .300 batting average and .417 on-base pct.
- Saturday's game two starter James Beasley has held opponents to a .196 batting average through three appearances, holding a 0.56 ERA over 16.0 IP. He has allowed 10 walks to seven strikeouts.
- As a team, Princeton is hitting .234, which sits fifth in the league, and their team ERA of 6.81 is also fifth.
