Men's Hockey Hosts RPI and Union in Final Regular Season Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (5-21-2, 4-14-2 ECAC) host the RPI Engineers (9-22-1, 6-13-1 ECAC) on Friday and the Union Garnet Chargers (19-10-3, 9-9-2 ECAC) on Saturday in the final regular season weekend at Meehan Auditorium.
Both games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally. The Bears will honor the seven-member Class of 2026 prior to Saturday's game.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a 5-21-2 overall record and 4-14-2 ECAC mark. The Bears most recently fell on the road at St. Lawrence before dropping an overtime game at Clarkson.
- Brown's offense averages 2.2 goals per game. Ben Poitras leads the squad with 10 goals and is second on the team with 18 points. Ivan Zadvernyuk leads the Bears with 14 assists and 22 points.
- Brown's power play has seven goals in 80 attempts (8.8%). Poitras and Zadvernyuk lead the team with two man-up goals apiece.
- Defensively, the Bears allow 3.7 goals per game. Goaltender Tyler Shea holds a .913 save percentage and a 3.10 goals against average in 21 starts.
- Brown's penalty kill enters the weekend at 74.5% (76-102).
- At the faceoff dot, the Bears win 49% of draws. Mike Cataldo (54.8%) and Zadvernyuk (52.3%) come in as the top centermen.
- RPI enters the weekend with a 9-22-1 overall record and a 6-13-1 ECAC mark. The Engineers are three points ahead of the Bears in the ECAC standings with 20 league points.
- Most recently, RPI fell at home against 14th-ranked Dartmouth before taking a 3-1 win over Harvard.
- RPI's offense averages 2.3 goals per game and is led by Luciano Wilson's 20 points. Rainers Rullers leads the Engineers with nine goals.
- The power play clicks at 18.8% (15-80) to rank seventh in the conference and 40th nationally.
- Defensively, RPI allows 3.4 goals per game. Goaltender Nate Krawchuk holds a 2.98 goals against average and a .905 save percentage in 20 starts.
- RPI's penalty kill clicks at 80% (72-90) to rank seventh in the conference and 31st nationally.
- RPI ranks fourth in the ECAC and 19th nationally at the faceoff dot, winning 51.6% of draws.
- Friday marks the 114th meeting between Brown and RPI in a series dating back to 1951.
- RPI owns the series edge, 70-35-8, along with a 28-18-4 record at Meehan Auditorium.
- Brown is 4-6-0 in the last 10 meetings and the teams split the season series in 2024-25.
- Union enters the weekend with a 19-10-3 overall record and 9-9-2 ECAC mark. The Garnet Chargers sit sixth in the league standings with 31 points.

- Ben Muthersbaugh leads the team with 30 points behind 15 goals and 15 assists. Brandon Buhr leads Union with 17 goals and has 28 points. Parker Lindauer leads the squad with 22 assists and has 29 points.
- Union's power play clicks at 23.4% (29-124) to rank 15th nationally.
- Defensively, the Garnet Chargers allow 2.6 goals per game to rank 21st nationally.
- Between the pipes, Brayden Gillespie holds a 2.25 goals against average and a .914 save percentage in 11 starts. Cameron Korpi holds a 2.44 goals against average and a .901 save percentage in 21 starts.
- Saturday marks the 72nd meeting between the Bears and Garnet Chargers in a series dating back to 1989.
- Brown is 28-28-10 in the series against the former Dutchmen and current Garnet Chargers.
- The Bears own a 13-10-10 record at home.
- After a 3-1 setback at St. Lawrence last Friday (Feb. 20), the Bears forced overtime against the Golden Knights on Saturday (Feb. 21), ultimately falling in the extra period, 4-3.
- Brian Nicholas tied the game in the final minute against Clarkson for his second goal in as many nights.
- Ryan St. Louis tallied an assist against the Saints and a goal against the Golden Knights.
