WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Brown women's soccer program kicks off its season on the road against the University of New Haven on Friday, August 22, at 6 p.m.

Scouting Brown
The Bears enter 2025 with high expectations, placing second in the Ivy League preseason poll with six first-place votes. Brown returns their leading goal scorer from last season, Ivy League Rookie of the Year Ella Weil (Culver City, Calif./Culver City), who scored five goals in 2024 and will look to build on her early collegiate success.
The Bears finished 2024 with a record of 7-5-5 and will lean on their experience to improve. Senior Bella Schopp (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) recorded 51 saves and five shutouts last year, and boasts a 16-5-7 career record at Brown.
Head coach Kia McNeill holds a strong record of 86-31-19 in her nine seasons. The Bears have won four Ivy titles during her tenure. Brown returns three All-Ivy selections from 2024, including Ella Weil (Culver City, Calif./Culver City), Ayla Sahin (Barrington, R.I./Tabor Academy) and Joy Okonye (Lagos, Nigeria/Canterbury School). Okonye was named to the 2025 TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 Preseason List.
