
Guy Makes History with Philippine National Team, Qualifies for 2027 Women's World Cup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown Women's Soccer forward Jael-Marie Guy '29 collected two assists in the Women's Asian Cup as the Philippine Women's National Football team qualified for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil. Guy's two assists led the Filipinas to a 2-0 win over Uzbekistan to clinch a second consecutive World Cup for the Philippine Women's National Team.
For her efforts, Guy was named the Performer of the Match.
Guy was on the 2025 Southeast Asian Games team that won their first-ever gold medal in December, after earning an international call-up to the Senior Team in late November. She participated in the team's training camp from Nov. 23 to Dec. 2 before being named to the final 23-player squad for the 2025 SEA Games.
Guy made her senior international debut on Dec. 5, 2025, appearing in a group-stage match against Myanmar. She went on to feature throughout the tournament, scoring her first senior international goal in the 87th minute of the semifinal against host Thailand. Her penalty goal equalized the match at 1-1 in regulation, and Guy converted the opening penalty in the shootout, helping drive the Philippines to a 4-2 victory and its first-ever SEA Games final appearance.
At Brown, Guy appeared in 16 matches in 2025 and recorded three goals and an assist as a first-year forward.
