PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior midfielder Joy Okonye was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason Women's Players to Watch List. She landed 99th in the rankings, and it was her second consecutive year making the list.
Okonye has amassed 12 points in her first two seasons, starting in 31 of 34 games. She was the lone Ivy League player on the list.
The Nigeria native has been a standout player for the Bears, earning First Team All-Ivy honors in 2024 and Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in 2023. She was named Rookie of the Year by her peers at the team's annual banquet in 2023. She also earned the Kate Silver '86 Award as the most outstanding first-year athlete at Brown.
Okonye will play a pivotal role in the Bears' 2025 campaign.
