THE FIRST PITCH
- After taking two of three games against Cornell, Brown now has a 17-10 overall mark and is 5-4 in Ivy League play. The Bears are tied with both Harvard and Brown for third place in the Ivy League through three weekends of play.
- Brown's 17 wins are one shy of tying last year's win total and would be tied with last season and the 2016 season for the most overall wins since earning 20 victories in 2006
- Alexis Guevara earned her third Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honor last week after posting a 1.00 ERA in 14.0 innings against Cornell. Guevara struck out 14 batters, while allowing just two earned runs against the Big Red.
- During the final game of the series with the Big Red, Guevara moved into second place all-time in Brown program history for career strikeouts. Guevara sits at 339 strikeouts, now just 33 shy of setting the all-time record (372).
- Guevara also has 94 strikeouts on the season, just four shy of her career-best of 98 that she had as a junior. With six more strikeouts, Guevara would become the first Bear to have 100 strikeouts in a season since 2010 when Kristie Chen had 103. The program record for strikeouts in a season is 127, set by Christy Trexler in 1992.
- Laurel Moody continues to be a force at the plate as the senior hit her ninth, 10th and 11th home runs of the season in the series against Cornell.
- Moody has now moved into second all-time in Brown program history with 11 home runs and is just two shy of tying the all-time mark of 13 set by Stephanie Thompson in 2011.
- Moody leads the Bears and is tops in the Ivy in home runs (11), total bases (72), and slugging percentage (.878), while sitting second in the Ivy League in batting average (.427) and third in the in base percentage (.520) and hits (35).

- Columbia is 12-13 on the year and 6-3 in Ivy League play, sitting in second place, one game above Brown. The Lions won two of three games against Yale last weekend and will play Monmouth on Wednesday before taking on Brown this weekend.
- Sarah Mikami leads Columbia with a .437 average, 31 hits, three triples and four home runs. Mikami is second on the team with 16 RBI. Cami Neal has driven in a team-best 20 runs and has hit eight doubles.
- In the circle, Emmy Davis leads the staff with a 4.82 ERA and five wins. Davis has 24 strikeouts in 49.1 innings pitched but has allowed 22 walks.
- Brown is 17-30 all-time against Columbia but the teams have split the last 10 games played. Last season Brown took the series with Columbia, winning both games two and three by equal 3-2 scores.
