3/23/2025 3:02:00 PM | Softball
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball (12-9, 0-3 Ivy) lost game three of its series to Dartmouth (9-9, 3-0 Ivy) by a score of 6-0 at the Brown Softball Field on Sunday (March 23).
The Bears only managed two hits on the day with Amanda Deng and Elli Thompson each collecting base knocks. Brown did draw six walks and Dartmouth committed three errors but the Bears were not able to come up with the timely hits to get runs across.
Dartmouth got to Brown starter Alexis Guevara (6-4) in the second inning, scoring two runs on a single. Guevara threw just two innings on the day with two strikeouts. Annie Finch finished off the game for the Bears, throwing five innings, allowing three earned runs.
The Big Green scored two runs in the fourth and one in both the fifth and the sixth for the final score.
Brown got base runners off walks in both the first and second inning and had its first runner get into scoring position in the third but weren't able to get anything across. The first big chance came in the fourth when the Bears loaded the bases on a walk by Maggie Foxx before a strikeout ended the frame.
Back-to-back walks in the fifth, followed by a fielder's choice put runners at second and third with two outs but Dartmouth's Isabel Kirby (2-1) got a groundout to keep the Bears off the board.
Brown would also get baserunners on in both the sixth and seventh but Kirby kept the Bears from doing any damage, leading to the loss.
UP NEXT
Brown will continue Ivy play with its first league road trip of the season as the Bears will head to Penn for three games next weekend.
